out of the soup

This picture got painted in 1986 or 87...not sure, and I have no way to look at it where I am right now, except for like this. And I hope the Buff-Tommers are ok with my hoisting it out of the soup like this. The reason I go to the measures of blog-labor on this is that I really like this painting for the simple fact that it depicts my childhood dream body position...that of holding the stanley cup.

Never gonna happen like that. Good though that some buddies of mine liked it and threw it on the cover of this 1992 release...

24 hour break in the action

...yeah, I've taken a 24 hour break in the action. could be simply that i havent had anything new to say. could be that i never did have anything to say, and that it was just luck that a kind of sense for blogging-purpose in me existed. i still hate blogging though.

if this platform lift was blue...but it isn't blue, so skip it.

I am not sure if I want to do a 2010 year in review or not. Probably a logical thing, I just don't know if I have it in me. like everyone else around here, I have a flu of some kind. Its almost out of me. I will see in the morning.

Leawood, Kansas.

Jindřichův Hradec, Czech Republik.

Muncie, Indiana.

'building site' Salzburg, Austria.

Rambo, Rambo, Rambo

...my lame holiday gift to the world...(for use as computer desktop screen).

In the end, I guess I have to write that 2010 was just as good a year as all the others, if not better. Travel, intrigue, comfort, beautiful rainstorms and snowstorms, raw fish intake, disc, laser and standard golf, the dream-team project2010, the Informal Research Lab at the steakhouse, the Nova Huta inspired songs, birthday party in a field, dream-team project2011, the wooden-spool soldier project, tick-tock of sleepytowne summer, utter mayhem at Fishmarket Gallery Northampton, ...everything else was cool too. Even being sick the last two weeks. Made me go back home. So, here it is...congradulations to everyone who made it through 2010! ...and a very happy merry year-switch to all!!!

closing up shop x 15

this morning i woke up in a kind of darkness, lets say a fog...something like that, but for the sake of keeping up speed i will use that terminology. groggy, dark, ambition-weak...
i didn't have problems standing up immediately; seeing straight, something else...normal. age does batter.
endspurt...today, tomorrow...then i go. good. very good. good, ah, good good.

at the margin-big tangled yarn

...i have been on this island for 2.5 months. Time goes by. the clouds have cleared. -less thoughts happening here, less people...much less. from last friday to monday the number plunged from approx. 175 to 3. now it is two. by the end of the day i will be alone here. a few days of this always charges my batteries...and speak to the family of blue-tit which live here year round. back to 'me and the birds', the solitude, priceless. proper would be to have a month of isolation here...good training for the big island...then again, i want to leave.

blue and green, colors in a late-summer rainy forest together with the red of brown and all the grays...good breeding ground for swarms and flocks. funny enough though here we just get a good crew of daddy-long-legs and the menacing but harmless spielzeug-flies.

bills, hours, salt and yachts...not wind-surfing, yachts. yachts wont work on the salzach...better to go to see my friend kenny peters on the cape. he could set me up with a couple of nice yachts. then there's the phrasing of bill evans, which would as well be considered a boat. helpt to keep me afloat. (flute solo).

two dots, the curve of a fingernail-moon and a circle. is that all there is?
perhaps the answer is 'yes', but right now that is completely unimportant.

an enclosed space, on stilts, its belly...my quest...
too much to look at...common line is not my desire...
element, ...sub-division...factor...amy winehouse...i will listen.
the yarn. the loose ends. means there are more than one piece.
torsten and smoke would dig whats cookin'...burnt my finger for the first time this summer...
eitriger...

wolfsblood

Postalm ski party...

hot video...i had to grab this...

looks like the weekend is over (pt. 3)...

Sleepytowne gets sleepier and sleepier. it rained a lot lately but for some reason dehydration seems to be the main battle. A friend of mine mentioned his fix on suduko-mania ...working over a month on one extra-difficult jam...each night before the zombie plunge into the pillow...didn't manage one number, but i managed to sleep instantly. so its really not about the puzzle. its about timing. kind of like now when i am technically not on the clock, but i am doing things one would call work...i would call it work, but i am not on the clock, so i call it 'getting things done'. distractions and alternative titling...clocks and awareness...i have to organise some keys...keys to fictional doors...physically real but true to a grey fiction, the real kind...the kind which is really there. i just put this hat on.

steak and eggs...the lull and silence...if it were only a good figure and always like this...thinking about photorealistic painting after drinking a redbull cola...schlunzen...take the video projector back to jon...tomorrow...hustling, because if i hustle i can have a hot shower afterwards...it is cold here...54°...gonna go into the 40's tonight. so i will hustle to keep warm, then have a hot shower, eat a steak, watch the movie 'russian roulette' ...oh yeah. first though, working. clearing out a great room filled with wood and more wood. it is a truly great room and i am sorry to clear it, but i must. clearing this room will give me a clearer conscious. Involtini Primavera!

...anyhow it is a room about to disappear. once cleared it will not be there anymore.
pity. the birds will have it back. it's a bird-breeding place in real life for this kind of bird...the Blaumeise. half hour more and it will be Zeit für Burger.

railroaded body, the adrenaline pump starts sputtering and i am 1/2 of what i could be.
thats life in sleepytowne. the big weekend is over. got to prep for the next big one which takes place here...not sleepytowne.

memory lane

one of the things i got as a kid was the understanding of taking it to the street...in parade-form...definately keen on changing the world to a better place. here seen dressed as a cow carrying a plastic baseball bat, holding hands with a gun-slinging cowboy...

10 or so years later the marching band takes a left at lords, thanks to a friend. and although being spotted in marching band photos as part of the band is technically worse than inhaling, i remain proud to have been part of that team. we lived through the team-embarassment and came out stronger individuals.

concerning teams, i always loved this shot of my dad's team, 'Larmer'.

here is a weird newspaper photo promoting the metacomet park summer concert series...also a nice team-style portrait.

...i dont know why i am posting all this memory lane stuff. maybe its because its time to go down memory lane.

Looks like the weekend is over (Pt. 2)...

...the pirate-flag moth visited me this weekend. So did Mr. Bergmüller. It was weekend number one of the summer for me, each night a relaxing party, each night a get-a-way. Two months ago i wished for a techno party for my birthday and saturday night i got it...out in the woods in Puch-Urstein, in the land of a friend of mine with a big sound-system and a beautiful place near the woods on a lumpy hill...this is where i woke up sunday morning, alone with my skijacket on. it gets cold in the nights here.

this is one of the houses i walked past on my way to the local train station.

I was thinking of what i wanted to eat at this point. i thought of a couple of options...pizza, burger, nothing...opting for the bar-b-que chicken sub, bla-bla-bla

after the chicken sub, i slept deep for one hour. Mr. Bergmüller woke me up at 2pm with a call. Our journey would begin. Stopping off at a local fleamarket befor going mushroom hunting and video shooting, Mr. Bergmüller bought a small plastic pony with band-aides around its ankles for his daughter and a black leather jacket.

then we went to Pass Lueg.
we didnt find any egg-sponge mushrooms. oh well. in a highway underpass tunnel we did find this though...

...'earth meets man' public design stuff.

not bad. kind of a hot slash mellow weekend!

looks like the weekend is over (Pt. 1)...

weekends are made for michelob. rubbed my face...ripped one hair out of my nose...coughed my brains out...itched a hard to reach corner of a shoulder blade...i dont know who this guy is...

...i want food and not any questions...i want quiet and sound of the wind and river...i want this...

...or a floor like this...

...this security system...

...i want a lot, and at the same time too little.

Part 2 begins today, right now.

Lets see if i can manage anything but scheiss-bloggen in the next days. up to the neck in awareness=Aufmerksamkeit=paying strict attention to=vollgas objects...

...i forgot to write that i love life.

Day-long Rib-a-thon

...sitting at the desk listening to Buttercup...a band from boston, massachusetts which i like to listen to. the next song just came on and it is from a jean-luc godard film sound track from Alphaville called Reprise Du Theme D'amour. now comes on Sebadoh with Good Things. immer gute laune mit Sebadoh. Bill Evans with Our Delight slides on next. Evans is kind of a good old fashioned piece of piano playing kind of guy. he mixes that Jeepers-Creepers thing into the four-swap.

anyway...this afternoon is the annual Rib-a-thon...
here is an example of the sanitary-look of 2010, and the place where a lot of rib-bones are going to end up in a few hours...

blue, green and a shadow red-ochre...not bad for a snap-shot...
but in reality, snap-shots are something completely different.

there you have it, cool runnings! Rib-munchers annonymous please help me. I dreamt of a rib wrap. Here you can probably get a rib wrap...

...probably not though. i think you get something more like this.

...something i cooked here in the "old salt factory", which then after eating made me feel happy...like, really really really happy.

this made me sad though...

...sad and happy. a beautifully symmetrical melting fallen ice cream ball which looks almost like a human nipple...or a fried egg spray painted pink...

what else could you want on a summers day in Sleepytowne?

Internet helps artist bridge the gap between hobby and visual composition...

...found this in the internet a couple of weeks ago...and it helped me to build the fake ice hockey goal behind the fake ice hockey goalie picuted below...

...which after shooting about 100 pucks at it looked like this afterwards...

...another display of the remains, this time in the gallery where i am showing it. KG Freiraum... Sleepytowne...

...in the same room with this work. The whole thing is pretty much a getaway with reference to Mike Bouchet. The opening is tonight.
